Digital Detox?
Hi Classmates,
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I think we all should take up Dr. Dennen's word and take on an actual digital detox and try to walk away from the internet and our devices for more than 48 hours. To be honest, this may sound crazy but I don't know if I will be able to do it because my cellphone is a part of my everyday life. I use it for everything from checking emails, keeping up with work and staying connected with family and friends. The thought of stepping away even for a short time feels challenging but I know it could also be refreshing. I am going on a cruise next weekend which is the 4th of July so I may be able to make it happen but I STILL HAVE SCHOOL WORK :(((((.

Hey India,
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you - I *want* to leave my device alone for 48 hours but I'm not sure how possible that is. Our cellphones are basically extensions of ourselves now, as scary as that may be to think. Maybe we could delete certain apps that we know consume more of our time for the digital detox? I'm going on vacation too for the 4th so I am hoping to really rest and recover!
Hi India,
ReplyDeleteI can resonate with you a lot. The first thing I do everyday when I wake up is to check my phone. But I did the 24-hour digital detox last week, as I visited my friend in another city. Then, I feel that it is so good to stay away from the digital work a little bit, and enjoy the "real" life without disruption!
