Week 4 Tools (PINTEREST)

Hi Class,

We are in Week 4, and one of the tools we’re exploring this week is Pinterest, which is highlighted as a form of social bookmarking. I’ll be honest, I don’t have a Pinterest account myself, but people are always telling me how helpful it is for organizing ideas, finding inspiration, and saving resources in a visual way. Currently, I am in the process of wedding planning, and after researching more about Pinterest, I realized that utilizing this app would be the perfect tool to gather ideas for themes and decor all in one place. After exploring the class pinboard, I felt motivated to create an account because I can see the value in having one central place to visually curate content, whether it’s for lesson ideas, professional resources, or even personal interests. It’s such a simple yet powerful way to stay organized and discover new perspectives over time.

  1. Thanks for sharing this! I really relate to your hesitation—I also hadn’t used Pinterest much before this class, but exploring it this week completely changed my perspective. It’s amazing how intuitive and visually satisfying it is for organizing ideas, especially when planning something as big as a wedding!
I love how you’re thinking about using Pinterest for both personal and professional purposes. It really is a flexible tool—you can collect teaching strategies, save creative inspiration, and build mood boards all in one place. I'm glad the class pinboard sparked some motivation—it did the same for me!

  2. Pinterest is a perfect fit for wedding planning! What I love about Pinterest is how it turns organization into something visual and intuitive. I’m sure it’ll be very helpful for your wedding planning! Let us know how it goes. I'd love to see your board ideas!

It's been a while since I used it, but this week I also decided to explore it more. It’s not just saving links. It’s creating mood boards, collecting inspiration, and mapping out projects. I would even like to use it with students in my culinary class to gather recipe ideas or food presentation styles. It would be amazing to see how they engage when the platform feels intuitive and fun.
